Give Back
The largest lesson we have learned through our travels and experiences is the impact we have as a company and individuals on other cultures. The Uncommon Kitchen wants to ensure that we not only appreciate cultures through food; but we give back to those that need it the most. Whether it is the products we buy, or the places we visit, we are all connected and have an impact on global economies and environmental sustainability.
The Uncommon Kitchen chooses products and packaging that have as little impact on the environment as possible. We also contribute $1 for each product sold to one of the following non-profit organizations. We have chosen these organizations based on the following criteria :
- Mission: All the organizations have well-defined goals for empowering individuals in local communities
- Transparency: Every dollar donated to the organization will be used to help those in need
- Community-focus: each organization, like The Uncommon Kitchen, is focused on building strong communities

The Micro-MBA empowers emerging entrepreneurs in communities across South Africa and other African countries with essential skills needed to grow their businesses. Thousands of individuals have already broken out of the cycle of poverty and are having a positive impact in their communities.
